Job Description: Data Engineer (Python + AWS + SQL)

Duration: Long-term, full-time

 

Summary:

We are looking for a Data Engineer with expertise in Python, AWS, and SQL to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for data ingestion, transformation, and integration, ensuring data availability, reliability, and performance for analytical and operational needs. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of cloud-based data architectures, and experience with modern data engineering tools.

 

Compensation:

Full-time (W2): $110K /year + benefits

Contract: $80–$90/hour

 

Responsibilities:

•Develop and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines for ingesting and processing large datasets

•Optimize data storage and retrieval in cloud-based environments (AWS, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)

•Design and implement data models, schemas, and warehouses for analytics and reporting

•Work with structured and unstructured data to enable business intelligence and machine learning use cases

• Automate data workflows using Airflow, AWS Lambda, or other orchestration tools

• Monitor and optimize database performance, indexing, and query efficiency

•Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to improve data accessibility

• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance best practices are followed

 

Qualifications:

6+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field

•Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and automation

•Expertise in SQL and database optimization (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift, Snowflake)

• Experience with AWS services (S3, Glue, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, Athena, etc.)

• Knowledge of Big Data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, etc.) is a plus

• Experience with data pipeline tools like Apache Airflow or dbt

• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices

•Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
